Montgomery County Recreation is offering two free summer camp fairs in January to provide families with information about available camp options. The first fair will be held at the Germantown Community Recreation Center, located at 18905 Kingsview Road, Germantown, on January 5. The second fair will take place at the East County Community Recreation Center, located at 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring, on January 11. Both events are scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m., as reported by Montgomery County Government's official press release.
With a range of summer camp programs offered at multiple locations throughout the county, Montgomery County Recreation encourages parents to start their summer planning early, as spots tend to fill up quickly. Some camps are in high demand and have limited availability, making early registration essential. Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich highlighted the value of these programs, stating, "Summer camp is an integral part in the development of our youth and an experience that can create lifelong memories and friendships," further encouraging families to look into and grab a spot in the programs offered, according to the county's press release.

This provides families with a preview of the offerings at the Recreation Department’s summer camps. According to the press release, registration for summer camp programs will begin on Jan. 21, at 6:30 a.m. for county residents, with enrollment available online via ActiveMONTGOMERY.org or in person. A preview of the camp listings will be available online tomorrow, and the full digital GUIDE will be accessible on Jan. 3.
