This adjustment in schedule accommodates the city's celebrations while still offering limited availability for those looking to engage in physical activity and childcare during the holidays.
The facility will be closed on December 24 in observance of Christmas Eve, allowing staff and patrons alike to prepare for the holiday. According to the information posted on the City of New Braunfels website, December 25 will also see the doors of Das Rec remain shut as the community celebrates Christmas Day. However, regular activities will resume shortly after, with the facility operating from 9 am to 4 pm on December 26, albeit on a limited schedule.
Holiday childcare needs are also addressed with Kindercare available from 8 am to 1 pm the day after Christmas. The pool will have specific hours set aside for exercise swim from 9 am to 11 am, and open swimming from 11 am to 3:30 pm. Children looking for some fun can join open play activities, which are scheduled to occur between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm on the same day.
As New Year's approaches, Das Rec is preparing for end-of-year festivities with adjusted hours on December 31. The facility will be open from 8 am to 5 pm, and similar to the post-Christmas schedule, Kindercare services will be available from 8 am to 1 pm. The pool's schedule mirrors that of the latter part of the holiday, featuring exercise swim and open swim during the same periods, alongside open play activities for the younger guests.
