The Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) recently announced that their latest effort to alleviate the enduring headache of gridlock, an elevated on-ramp from Broadway to the southbound lanes of Interstate 25, is finally open to traffic. This new addition comes as a part of the wider I-25 and Broadway Travel and Safety Improvement Project, aiming to streamline congestion and promote safety in an area notorious for its sluggish crawl, as reported by the City and County of Denver.
Denver drivers who've been battling the relentless snarl of cars might find some solace as the new route offers a right turn from Broadway onto the southbound I-25 on-ramp at Ohio Avenue, while those approaching from the north on Broadway will need to chart a slightly more circuitous path, continuing to Lincoln Street, then making a left at Exposition, and another left onto Broadway to reach the new entry point, a route currently laid down to run its course until Ohio Street reopens between Lincoln and Broadway, set for sometime in 2025.
Those who frequent the northbound direction of I-25 won't be facing any changes at this juncture, access will stay rooted at Lincoln for northbound Broadway motorists, the DOTI remarks.
