Big changes are coming to Dallas Love Field (DAL) for travelers using ride-hailing apps and other transportation services. As of January 3, 2025, the pick-up area for app-based rideshares like Lyft, Uber, and Wingz, as well as taxis, limousines, and on-demand vehicles, will move from Garage B to a new spot encompassing the current valet pavilion and Garage C, as per the City of Dallas.

This change aims to enhance the experience for both service providers and customers the new location is on the terminal's southeast side, which should provide a six-minute walk for outbound ground transportation passengers to their rides, the transportation network drivers have been instructed to stage only in the designated TNC holding lot and can pick up passengers from marked spaces specific to their services—and beware, violations won't be taken lightly and could lead to penalties.

For those who are ride-hailing app users, the reconfigured valet pavilion is your new checkpoint, for taxi, limo, or on-demand service seekers, or drivers Garage C Level One next to the pavilion is the place to go, and valet users you'll keep to the second farthest right lane on Herb Kelleher Way as usual, while transportation providers will veer into the farthest right lane to enter the valet pavilion's new entrance.

Passengers who require special assistance or accessible rides have been considered during this transition and they'll continue the use of the lower-level curb for their pick-ups; a six-month project has paved the way for these changes, with parking spaces being repurposed in valet and Garage C a set of retrofitted curbs, updated traffic light schedules, and the addition of new signs have been implemented to streamline operations, the Department of Aviation did their homework, considering multiple locations before deciding that this set-up with the valet pavilion and Garage C Level One would serve as the most efficient solution.
