
Last night, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the historic downtown Hotel Cecil. According to the LAFD alert, the fire, which was reported at approximately 10:58 PM on Monday, was contained to one room on the fourth floor of the high rise residential building.
The fire was held in check by the building's sprinkler system and was successfully extinguished without any injuries reported. Firefighters remained at the scene into the night, "conducting smoke and water removal," as per the LAFD's update.
The authorities have not yet released information regarding the cause of the blaze or an estimate of the damages incurred. Fire Station 9, Battalion 1, Central Bureau, and Council District 14 units led the emergency response efforts, as per the LAFD statement.
