A school bus carrying two students was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood yesterday afternoon. Multiple vehicles, including one that overturned, collided near the intersection of Copeland and Warren streets, according to the Boston Police Department. The incident, which occurred shortly after 5 p.m., prompted a response from Boston police. Video from the scene, captured by 7NEWS, showed a vehicle lying on its side next to a Boston Public Schools bus.
The twisted metal and shattered glass told a story, but inside the yellow bus, both the children and staff remained unharmed. Boston Public Schools expressed clear relief in a statement, saying, "no one on the bus was hurt." This small stroke of luck stood out in an otherwise grim scene. The same statement, as reported by NBC Boston, revealed the alarming detail that the bus was in the midst of completing its route when it was struck by another vehicle.
Law enforcement officers and emergency medical technicians, who arrived with at least one ambulance, navigated the chaotic aftermath, working to provide aid and piece together the events leading to the crash. However, the question of what caused the vehicles to collide remains unanswered, with Boston police stating that the cause is still under investigation.
