North Las Vegas is preparing to spread holiday cheer on Saturday next week with a series of festive events, including a toy giveaway and a daring plunge. According to the City of North Las Vegas official announcement, the giveaway at City Hall will offer 4,000 toys for children in need, made possible through collaboration with local partners like Make the Road NV and Amazon's VGT1. The event aims to assist families during the holiday season, with gifts available for children aged 3 to 15, while supplies last.
For those eager to dive into the holiday spirit, the City’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its inaugural Polar Plunge at Silver Mesa Recreation Center and Pool. Participants are invited to take a chilly dip or slide into the icy waters, with hot cocoa and donuts available to warm up afterward. A snow machine will also create a wintery atmosphere. The first 50 participants will receive a free Polar Plunge t-shirt, making the event even more appealing.
The address for the toy giveaway is listed as North Las Vegas City Hall’s Liberty Park at 2250 Las Vegas Blvd. N. The Polar Plunge and ensuing Breakfast with Santa will take place at Silver Mesa Recreation Center & Pool located at 4025 Allen Lane.
After the plunge, attendees can enjoy a pancake breakfast featuring live entertainment, face painting, and arts and crafts, all hosted by Santa Claus and his elves, according to the City of North Las Vegas.
