A Knox County man with a history of convictions for crimes against children has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison on charges of distributing and possessing child sexual abuse material. Lee Allen Goudy, 30, of Howard, Ohio, was handed down a 250-month prison sentence in U.S. District Court for engaging in criminal activities similar to those for which he had previously been convicted, according to a report by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio.
In August 2023, the FBI began investigating Goudy after receiving a tip about his activities. He, a Tier II registered sex offender, was believed to have uploaded child pornography online. Subsequent cyber tipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) pinned at least four instances of such materials uploaded by Goudy. The investigation uncovered his use of various platforms, including Reddit, Kik messenger, and Twitter, to distribute explicit content.
Law enforcement retrieved approximately 650 videos and 100 images depicting child sexual abuse from Goudy's iPhone. This disturbing collection showcased the sexual abuse of infants and toddlers, including acts of sexual torture against babies. As per the details in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio statement, one particularly egregious video showed a newborn being harmed violently.
The case against Goudy also cited evidence from his possession, such as his iPhone's search history, which contained queries like "supervised release monitoring iPhone" and "does federal monitoring work on iPhone." A second phone revealed that he sought content related to violence, rape, and sex acts against infants and toddlers. On this device, 150 images of child sexual abuse material were found, which he had traded on Discord. In September 2023, Goudy was arrested for breaching a federal supervised release warrant, and later, in April, he pleaded guilty to these child pornography crimes, articulated by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio.
