Over the weekend, Oklahoma City saw two shootings, one of which was fatal. Early on Black Friday, a disturbance in southeast Oklahoma City led to an altercation that resulted in the death of 24-year-old Timothy Brown. Police responded to the scene near Southeast 44th Street and Sunnylane Road at about 2 a.m. They found Brown with gunshot wounds after he was confronted by a group when he arrived at a home. During the confrontation, 21-year-old Ladarius Crutchfield, who lived at the house, fired the shots, as reported by the OKC Fox News.
As the investigation unfolds, no formal charges have been filed against the apprehended suspect, however OKC Fox News attributes the identification of both involved parties to local law enforcement, while Brown's confrontation prior to the shooting and his transport to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead are details confirmed by KOCO 5, which has refrained from naming Crutchfield pending official charges. The police have encouraged anyone with information to contribute to the ongoing investigation by contacting the Homicide Tip Line.
In a separate incident, authorities are looking into a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in Southwest Oklahoma City. This shooting left one woman injured with a gunshot wound to her foot; this occurred on Woodward Avenue near Southwest 44th & I-44 around 4:00 a.m., as reported by KFOR. The police, upon arrival, quickly transported the victim to a local hospital; her current condition has not been disclosed.
The police have not identified any suspects in the second shooting, and their investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed something to come forward, as it could help solve the case.
