Oklahomans woke up to a blanket of fog and lingering mist this morning, but clearer skies are on the horizon. According to the NWS, after an early bout of patchy drizzle and fog, which is expected to clear by 9 a.m., the weather is set to improve, with mostly cloudy conditions giving way to sunshine and a high near 61 degrees. "South winds at 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph," the service notes.
The evening promises a return of fog, which is expected to develop into patchy areas after 9pm. "Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 42. South wind 5 to 9 mph becoming north after midnight," the forecast reads. Come Monday morning, residents should be prepared for areas of fog before noon, giving way to partly sunny skies and a high near 56 degrees. As Oklahoma City heads into the week, the consistent north wind suggests a brisk chill in the air, particularly at night.
Forecast from the NWS indicates that starting Tuesday, sunnier skies will dominante the week. A series of clear days and mostly clear nights are on tap, with Tuesday's temperatures peaking at 48 degrees and a low around 32. Wednesday will continue the trend with sunny conditions and a high near 52 degrees, while the night will see temperatures dipping to around 37.
Looking further ahead to the weekend, anticipations of warmer weather are in the cards. "Thursday Sunny, with a high near 57. Thursday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. Friday Mostly sunny, with a high near 61," the service forecasts. Saturday also promises to be mostly sunny with highs mirroring that of Friday. The nights leading into the weekend, albeit mostly clear, will be cool, reaching lows into the mid-40s.
