
Tragedy struck Forestville yesterday when the Sonoma County Fire District responded to a fatal cabin fire. According to a social media post from the Sonoma County Fire District, the fire occurred in the 10,000 block of Woodside Drive around 2 PM in a two-story cabin in a heavily wooded area. Despite the efforts of the responding crews, one individual was found deceased at the scene.

At about 2 PM, SCFD crews responded to a structure fire in the 10,000 block of Woodside Dr, Forestville. A two story, cabin style home in a heavily wooded area, 1 person found deceased. No spread vegetation. Crews & Investigators remain on scene. pic.twitter.com/xdUA4wH5w2
The SCFD has confirmed that the blaze did not spread to the surrounding vegetation, potentially averting a larger disaster in what remains a densely forested region.
Firefighters and investigators are actively working at the site to understand the cause of the blaze. The identity of the person found has not been released.
