Early this morning, a house fire in Catonsville resulted in one person being critically injured and three people rescued, according to Baltimore County Fire officials. CBS News Baltimore reported that the fire on the 400 block of Westshire Drive required firefighters to perform a rescue operation upon their arrival at a home engulfed in heavy flames.

The fire, brought under control shortly after 7:45 a.m., has left the community on high alert. As detailed by WBALTV, the injured person's condition remains critical. There had been earlier confusion, as fire officials indicated that three people were in critical condition, which later was clarified to one.
