A fatal accident on State Highway 130 in Pflugerville claimed the life of one person and left another injured early Tuesday morning. CBS Austin reports that the crash occurred around 3:19 a.m. near the Kelly Lane exit when the vehicle, for reasons yet unknown, departed from its lane and collided with a wall.
The immediate consequences of the crash caused extensive interruptions in traffic patterns with one lane of SH 130 and the frontage road being reduced to a single lane which resulted in likely delays for morning commuters, the scene was cleared and normal traffic resumed around 6:30 a.m., the Pflugerville Police Department has not disclosed the identities of the individuals involved in the crash at this time. KXAN 36 News notes that law enforcement officials were on the scene to conduct an investigation into the crash, a process which continued into the morning hours.
The passenger was deceased by the time emergency services arrived, whereas the driver sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Detailed inquiries are being made into the circumstances that led to the vehicle veering off its path, though this information has yet to be made public.
