
A tragic accident occurred in Bridgeton Township late Friday night, resulting in one fatality and leaving another person injured. According to a FOX17 report, the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a single-vehicle accident around 11:14 p.m., near South Orchard Avenue and West 120th Street. Upon arrival, a 53-year-old male driver from Grant was pronounced dead at the scene. A 48-year-old female passenger, also from Grant, was transported to Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont, but the extent of her injuries was not available.
The incident has attracted local attention, as initial investigations by authorities, shared by WZZM 13, suggest that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash. The names of the individuals involved have not been released, and while the condition of the injured passenger remains uncertain, the community is left to grapple with the aftermath of this devastating event.
