According to FOX6NOW, the incident occurred on Wednesday shortly after 6 p.m., near Highway 36 and Highway J in the village of Rochester, following an initial collision between two vehicles.
What started as a minor collision quickly escalated when one driver, trying to cross the highway to speak with the other party, was hit by a third vehicle. Emergency services responded, and the driver who was struck was airlifted due to the severity of their injuries, according to CBS58.
Despite the complex nature of the accident, authorities do not suspect impairment, as per Racine County Eye. The Racine County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that all parties involved are cooperating with the investigation.
