An Orlando man has entered a guilty plea on charges of distributing a substantial amount of methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Desean Williams, 38, could be looking at a minimum of ten years to a potential life sentence behind bars following his acknowledgment of the crime involving more than nine pounds of the controlled substance.
The specifics of the case, as reported by the Department of Justice, state that, on January 31, Williams was caught distributing approximately 4.5 kilograms of methamphetamine. The illicit handover occurred at a gas station within Marion County's bounds.
Williams' apprehension and subsequent conviction were the result of a collaborative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Marion County Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team. Their investigation culminated in the successful interception of this significant quantity of narcotics. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg is now prosecuting the case against Williams.
