An Orlando woman, aged 66, tragically lost her life last night when her SUV was hit by another vehicle that failed to heed a stop sign in Orange County. According to ClickOrlando, the collision occurred around 9:26 p.m. at the intersection of Apopka Boulevard and Overland Road, as confirmed by Florida Highway Patrol.
The woman was driving south on Overland Road when a westbound SUV struck her vehicle. The driver, a 29-year-old Orlando man, was in the SUV with two passengers: a 26-year-old man from Apopka and a 13-year-old boy from Orlando. They approached the intersection, but the Orlando man did not stop at the stop sign. A report from the Florida Highway Patrol substantiated the crash details, and it was unknown if any of the individuals involved were wearing seatbelts.
The impact of the crash was severe enough that the woman's vehicle sustained significant damage on the left side, leading to her unfortunate death. She was promptly rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Details from WESH confirmed that the driver and passengers in the Toyota 4-Runner, which struck her Kia Soul, remained unharmed and stayed at the scene after the collision occurred.
