
A tragic incident in Otter Tail County has led to the death of a three-year-old boy after he accidentally shot himself. As reported by FOX 9, the event occurred on Sunday around 5:40 p.m. in Oak Valley Township, a situation that once again highlights the devastating consequences firearms can have when accessible to children.
According to FOX 9, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office received a distressing 911 call reporting the incident. Quick to attend, EMS promptly transported the toddler to Astera Hospital in Wadena, Minnesota, with injuries initially described as undetermined. Unfortunately, the child succumbed to his injuries, as later confirmed by the sheriff's office.
While the investigation unfolds, the sheriff's office has not indicated whether any arrests have been made following the shooting. "The sheriff's office is investigating the incident," as stated by KARE 11.
