Over 8,000 Southeast Michigan Students Explore Future Careers at MiCareerQuest Event in NoviSource: Macomb County

Over 8,000 high school students from Southeast Michigan attended the MiCareerQuest Southeast event last month. Held at the Novi Suburban Showplace, the event offered hands-on opportunities in construction, health and safety, advanced manufacturing, and information technology, according to the Macomb County.

Local businesses set up hands-on exhibits where students could try activities like performing appendectomies, programming robots, operating cranes, and using virtual reality. The event started in 2015 in Allegan, Barry, and Kent counties, and has since become a model for similar events across the country, helping connect students with potential careers and employers with future talent, as reported by the Macomb County.

Michigan Works is organizing MiCareerQuest, helping to bring together sponsors, volunteers, and business leaders. Companies can participate in the 2025 event to connect with future talent and showcase careers in fields like nursing, engineering, and IT.
