Residents and visitors in Oviedo are gearing up for the festive cheer as the city prepares for its annual Holiday Parade. Ahead of the festivities, there will be significant road closures that commuters and parade-goers must be aware of. According to an advisory from the City of Oviedo, starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oviedo Blvd at CR 419 will be closed to through traffic, with exceptions being made for parade participants who will access the Oviedo Gymnasium and Aquatic Facility for staging.
The celebration will cause further disruptions later in the evening as Oviedo Blvd will be fully closed to traffic from 419 to Center Lake Lane beginning at 6:45 p.m., with the parade set to start at 7 p.m. and expected to wrap up around 9 p.m. As the parade progresses, local officers will implement the road closure to ensure the participants and spectators are kept safe during the event.
The city advises residents to plan for road closures, which may require leaving earlier or finding alternative routes.
