The Flint Farmers' Market is selling bricks from its former East Boulevard Drive location, which was recently demolished. These bricks, priced at $100 each, come with a metal plaque to commemorate the market's history. According to abc12, only about 150 bricks are available for sale.

The bricks serve as a connection to Flint's history and will support future improvements at the market. "So many people have great memories from the old market. We are grateful to have rescued a bit of that history for the community to take home, enjoy and share with future generations," said Karianne Martus, market manager, in an interview with MLive. The proceeds from the brick sales will fund renovations of the Ramsdell Room in 2025, a community space named after former market manager Dick Ramsdell.

The original Flint Farmers' Market opened at the East Boulevard Drive location in 1940 and operated there until 2014, when it moved to East First Street as part of an expansion. The previous location served the community for 70 years. According to Mid Michigan Now, the market has existed in various forms and locations since 1905.

Those interested in purchasing a brick can order online through the farmers' market's website or buy one in person at the Friends of the Market booth. All bricks must be picked up at the market during its hours of operation: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in December. Shipping options are not available.
