
An early morning traffic incident in Oxnard on December 8 left one pedestrian in critical condition, the Oxnard Police Department reports. The collision, involving a Dodge Journey SUV and a 56-year-old male pedestrian, occurred near the intersection of Wooley Road and Donlon Avenue at around 8:25 a.m. According to the official news release by the department, the man was struck while crossing a section of the roadway not designed for pedestrians.
Responding officers found the injured pedestrian lying in the roadway, and EMS teams provided medical aid before transporting him to the Ventura County Medical Center. The involved drivers, including the 35-year-old driver of a 2017 Dodge Journey, stopped after the incident and cooperated with the authorities, as per the Oxnard Police Department. It appears neither speed nor impairment were contributing factors to the accident, but the Oxnard Police Department's investigation is still ongoing.
