The quiet streets of Palmer, Texas, were disrupted on Christmas Day with the news of a tragic incident, as police are currently investigating a possible murder-suicide involving two individuals formerly in a relationship. According to FOX 4 News, the Palmer Police Department responded to a call at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the 200 block of Poinsettia Drive, where neighbors had discovered the unresponsive pair with suspected gunshot wounds.
The deceased have been identified as 31-year-old Sierra Roarx of Palmer and 55-year-old Byron Olivere of Waxahachie, preliminary investigations suggest Olivere shot Roarx and then himself, bending a somber narrative to an otherwise festive period fraught with celebratory expectation. Further confirming these details, WFAA reported that both bodies were sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office for a full examination to elucidate the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
In the wake of the incident, officials revealed that Olivere had a history of service with the Grand Prairie Police Department from 2002 until his departure in 2018, where he served his final role as a property room technician. This information brings to the community a deeper sense of shock as they grapple with the complexity of Olivere's background intertwining with the city’s law enforcement.
