A Pasadena man has been apprehended in connection to what is being described as a "possible explosion" in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County fire officials reported. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon and prompted calls to emergency services.

According to police statements cited by WBAL-TV, at approximately 2:25 p.m., residents of the 700 block of East Ordnance Road were startled by a disturbing "boom," prompting a 911 call. Investigators located debris indicative of a destructive device on the scene. Subsequent inquiries led authorities to a house on the 7700 block of Rockanna Road in Pasadena, where upheaval had not yet been observed.

Officials employed surveillance footage and the accounts of witnesses to identify 63-year-old Greg Smith as the suspect in connection to the explosion. WMAR-2 News reported that Smith faces charges that include first-degree arson, in addition to the manufacturing, possession, use, and transportation of destructive devices.

Smith is detained at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on Jennifer Road in Annapolis, awaiting further proceedings, and is held without bail.
