Fans of the grunge genre are in for a treat as Pearl Jam announces a series of US tour dates for 2025. Renowned for their live performances, the Seattle-bred band is set to visit select cities next spring, with a two-night special slated for Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on May 6 and May 8. The tour is an extension of their support for the latest album, "Dark Matter," which has not only garnered three Grammy nominations but has also seen significant commercial success. WKRN reported the Nashville dates, indicating a special focus on multi-night performances in each city.
Pearl Jam, oft-referred to as “the Grateful Dead of Grunge” according to U2’s Bono, remains a powerful force on the touring circuit. The tour's itinerary also includes stops in Atlanta and Pittsburgh, among other cities. The band's significant reach is reinforced as their latest record, "Dark Matter," has topped multiple Billboard charts, an accolade that coincides with their consistent tour history. "Dark Matter," as reported by The Rock Revival, has been streamed over 100 million times and follows a long line of chart-topping achievements for Pearl Jam.
Members of the band’s official Ten Club will have the chance to snag tickets before the general public, with presales starting December 5 for individuals who were paid members before midnight PT December 4. Those interested can also sign up for an artist presale through Ticketmaster for up to five concerts, running now through December 10 at 10:00 A.M. PT. General ticket sales commence December 13, details of which are laid out on Pearl Jam's official website. Information regarding ticket sales was outlined by Relix.
Despite the pandemic's interference with the live music scene, Pearl Jam’s prior album, "Gigaton," eventually saw them touring in 2022. Their latest project involves producer Andrew Watt, known for his work with The Rolling Stones and Ozzy Osbourne, signaling a possibly heavier and more guitar-driven sound for this legendary act. The release of "Dark Matter" was followed by an ultra-exclusive album reveal at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, where frontman Eddie Vedder said, "We’re still looking for ways to communicate,” Vedder said at the event. “We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful. No hyperbole – I think this is out best work." Bassist Jeff Ament added, "I couldn’t be prouder of us as a band," in a testament to their ongoing enthusiasm for their craft. These remarks were captured during a release event detailed by The Rock Revival.
With accolades including a tied record for most No. 1 albums on Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums chart, Pearl Jam continues to define the rock soundscape. Their 2025 tour, following an extensive 2024 schedule that took them from the US to Australia and various European locales, invites fans to witness a dynamic performance that is set to include the gripping contents of "Dark Matter." The tour, while currently limited to specific US cities, holds the potential for additional global dates.
