
A pedestrian was killed in Las Vegas early last Thursday morning when they were struck by a stolen vehicle. The incident occurred around 1:56 AM at the intersection of East Lake Mead Boulevard and Sloan Lane. The vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, was speeding east on East Lake Mead Boulevard when it hit the pedestrian, who was crossing against the signal. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
A vehicle hit a pedestrian, then crashed into objects in a parking lot at 6055 East Lake Mead. The driver was thrown from the car, and the passenger ran away. The pedestrian, a 28-year-old man from Henderson, NV, was pronounced dead at the scene. This is the 144th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department area this year, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The people involved in the stolen Hyundai have not been found, and the investigation is ongoing.
