Traffic patterns in Plymouth are about to change as the town embarks on the Pinehills/Clark Rd. Traffic Improvement Project. According to a social media post from the Plymouth Police Department, construction began on December 2. The upgrade includes widening Clark Road to accommodate a dedicated left-turn lane onto Pinehills Drive and another onto Meeting Way, in addition to installing two raised medians and a fully signalized traffic light at the intersection of Pinchills Drive and Clark Road.
While construction is pending, Clark Road will remain accessible to the public, the Plymouth Police Department advises. But to swiftly respond to the anticipated disruptions, locals are encouraged to heed traffic signs displaying temporary lane shifts and reduced speed limits. In a statement by the Plymouth Police Department, "Please be aware of your surroundings and make note of the traffic safety signs and directional signs indicating temporary lane shifts, and reduced speed limits during construction."
The project aims to alleviate traffic issues and is expected to enhance overall safety and flow. As with most construction endeavors, disturbances are anticipated, though the town along with contractors promises to minimize any inconvenience to residents, business owners, and visitors.
For those concerned or curious about ongoing developments, James Downey, the Assistant Director of Public Works, is the point of contact. The Plymouth Police Department expressed appreciation for community patience and cooperation during this period: "The Town of Plymouth, the Pinehills, and the Contractor will make every effort to minimize the inconveniences to residents, business owners, and/or visitors to the area."
