Homicide detectives in Nashville continue to unravel the threads of a fatal incident that occurred over the weekend. In what appears to be a pointed act of violence, an unidentified man was found deceased from multiple gunshot wounds inside his vehicle in a secluded part of William Pitts Park. The Metro Nashville Police Department reported the incident happened around 9:45 p.m. last Saturday, but the body was not discovered until the following evening.
Amid the ongoing investigation, police disclosed they had located a jar of marijuana and a holstered pistol in the victim’s Infiniti sedan, which was parked in the lot off Tusculum Road. These items remain a part of the evidence palette detectives are using to piece likely together the sequence of events leading up to the man's death. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is currently working to identify the victim through fingerprint analysis. No conjectures have been publicly made about the connection, if any, between the found items and the motive for the shooting.
