The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the Aldi on South Westnedge Avenue, according to statements reported by FOX 17. Reports describe how the suspect entered the store and claimed to have a firearm before demanding cash from the premises.
Aldi patrons and employees were caught unwary when the man entered the establishment at approximately 5:45 p.m. and abruptly made demands. WWMT reported that a person present during the incident informed the police that the man was armed with a handgun.
