Irish fashion retailer Primark is deepening its footprint in the American market with plans to open a new store in North Texas. According to an announcement disclosed by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the company has signed a lease for space at Grapevine Mills shopping mall, signaling the brand's ongoing U.S. expansion strategy. No specific opening date for the Grapevine location has been revealed yet.

While Primark currently operates 29 stores across the United States, the new Metroplex store represents the company's commitment to target shoppers seeking cost-effective fashion solutions, as stated by Primark’s U.S. president Kevin Tulip, "Now, more than ever, Americans are seeking value and our ongoing expansion across the country represents our commitment to bringing Primark’s unique combination of quality products at affordable prices to as many American shoppers as possible," in a press release reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Founded in Dublin in 1969, Primark not only offers clothing but also houseware and beauty products without operating any online stores which has become a distinctive characteristic of the brand.

The new Grapevine location isn't the only Texas store on Primark's radar; the retailer is scheduled to open another store in McAllen on December 12, marking its entrance into the state, and has other sites planned for Hurst, El Paso, and two in the Houston area. Furthermore, as reported by WFAA, Primark is also eyeing expansion in the Midwest and South with leases at malls in Indianapolis, Miami, Chicago, and a Detroit suburb, while some of these locations are projected to open in 2025.

Grapevine Mills mall has shaped itself as an attraction for consumers interested in more than just shopping; it's a family-oriented entertainment hub, boasting features like a Peppa Pig theme park, an aquarium, Legoland Discovery Center, and the Texas debut of Meow Wolf's immersive art experience, illustrating the mall's strategic appeal to a diverse visitor base. Amid this milieu, Primark's retail strategy emphasizes affordability, catering to a broad spectrum of customers as Michelle McEttrick, Primark’s global chief customer officer, highlighted in an August statement, as per WFAA, "Primark is still relatively unknown in the U.S., so we want to spread the word to savvy shoppers that they don't need to sacrifice style if they're on a budget."
