In Rancho Cordova, thirty-four students were recently recognized at the annual Holiday STAR event. The event celebrates their academic and behavioral achievements despite challenges, according to the City of Rancho Cordova.
Through the efforts of the City of Rancho Cordova and the Rancho Cordova Police Department, a group of students were recognized for their achievements. Each student, nominated by their school principals or teachers, received a care package that included "a backpack packed with school supplies, engaging activities, their favorite treats, a Holiday STAR sweatshirt, and a $100 gift card for a holiday shopping spree!"
City staff, along with members of the Rancho Cordova Police Department and Sac Metro Fire Department, joined students for a festive shopping trip. The Holiday STAR program has become a tradition in Rancho Cordova, supporting and encouraging local youth, as reported by the City of Rancho Cordova.
