The Rancho Cordova Police Department has made an arrest in connection with recent mail thefts in the area. According to the Rancho Cordova Police Department's Facebook page, officers from the Problem Oriented Policing team had been gathering information over the past few weeks, leading to the execution of a search warrant at a local home.
During a search, Problem-Oriented Policing officers found a United States Postal Service master mailbox key, fentanyl, and several items of mail not belonging to the suspect, suggesting possible identity theft. As a result, one victim of identity theft was identified. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of identity theft, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of burglary tools, as reported by the Rancho Cordova Police Department.
The Rancho Cordova Police Department are working with the United States Postal Service on an investigation related to mail security. With more mail and packages being sent during the holiday season, they want to prevent identity theft. The police encourage people to stay alert and report any thefts to the United States Postal Service or local authorities
