The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is seeking a bank robbery suspect following an incident yesterday in the 300 block of Rohnert Park Expressway. According to the report, the unknown suspect allegedly entered the bank around 11:31 a.m., claimed to be armed, and threatened to shoot the teller unless handed a sum of cash. Despite the claims, no firearm was observed by the bank employees during the confrontation.
Law enforcement responded to the 911 call and arrived to find the suspect had already fled the scene on foot with an estimated $13,000. Detectives working on the case have urged the public to be on the lookout, though they believe the suspect has since discarded the sweatshirt worn during the robbery. Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety has released a photograph of the suspect to aid in the search and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
The RPDPS spearheads an ongoing investigation, and they encourage anyone who might recognize the suspect or has any relevant information to immediately contact Detective K. Escher at (707) 588-3542, referring to case number #24-3692.
