In the vigilant effort to maintain public safety during this holiday season, the City of Rohnert Park Police & Fire administrators took to social media to highlight the arrests of impaired drivers, including one Alejandro Escobar Rodriguez, after a routine traffic stop revealed a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.
On Sunday, amidst the usual bustle of pre-holiday travel, a safety officer noted multiple traffic infractions by a driver and engaged what started as a typical stop. It unfolded into a DUI investigation when the officer "observed several traffic violations" and the driver "showing signs of intoxication," as stated in the City of Rohnert Park Police & Fire's social media post.
During the encounter, the safety officer reportedly could spot open alcohol containers in the back seat, lending a tangible weight to the observational evidence of inebriation. After conducting the necessary investigation, Rodriguez was subsequently booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility, facing charges under California Vehicle Codes 23152(a) and 23152(b). His blood alcohol content was recorded at a staggering 0.21 percent, as reported by the City of Rohnert Park Police & Fire's official Facebook page.
