The rapid response of Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies led to the apprehension of two suspects following an audacious theft of dozens of iPhones from a Verizon store in Antelope. The devices, valued over $100,000, were traced to Woodland, where the capture occurred, deputies reported. The incident was initially reported by CBS Sacramento yesterday, detailing the robbery that occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday.
Authorities were tipped off by Verizon's real-time tracking information, which allowed them to locate the stolen goods swiftly. According to findings by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the suspects fled their vehicle upon their discovery but were subsequently nabbed by the deputies. Alongside the recovered iPhones, a firearm was also seized - which, one of the suspects reportedly utilized during the robbery, ABC 10 stated in a parallel report.
The precise number of iPhones recovered ranges between 40 to 59, suggesting that the thieves made off with a significant haul before law enforcement stepped in. The suspects, now detained, face serious charges for their involvement in the high-stakes theft, including the possession and alleged use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
