
A tragic incident occurred on Highway 70 in Yuba County Saturday morning when a 44-year-old Sacramento man's life was abruptly ended in a solo vehicle crash. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 8:20 a.m., south of Magnolia Drive. Police discovered a BMW that had diverted off the roadway to crash into an orchard. FOX40 reported that upon arrival at the scene, the driver was found ejected from his vehicle and unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol said that the driver was reported to not have been wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Several factors including why the vehicle veered off the highway are still under investigation to ultimately understand the cause of this deadly event. The man, whose identity has not been publicly released, was the sole occupant of the car and no other vehicles were reported to be involved, as noted in a statement obtained by ABC10.
The highway was temporarily affected during the course of the on-site investigation but has since been cleared. Authorities encourage motorists to always wear seatbelts and adhere to the traffic laws designed to protect everyone on the road.
