In a significant development for the local economy, Safran Defense & Space, Inc. (Safran DSI), a major player in the aerospace technology sector, has announced its decision to set up a new manufacturing facility in Parker, Colorado. According to Douglas County, the company will be creating 20 high-quality jobs in a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to producing electric propulsion thrusters, providing space telemetry ground equipment workshops, as well as housing teams focused on satellite communications and ground domain awareness.

Partnered with the Douglas County Economic Development Corporation, the expansion reflects Colorado's burgeoning aerospace ecosystem and was chosen for its exceptional workforce and robust supply chain. These attributes were complemented by the region's business-friendly climate. "One of our Board’s core priorities is to foster a business-friendly climate that enables all of our stakeholders – taxpayers and businesses alike – the opportunity to prosper," said Commissioner Abe Laydon, founder of the Douglas County Economic Development Corporation, per Douglas County. The county also boasts excellent public schools and a commitment to public safety, contributing factors in the decision to expand there.

Joe Bogosian, President and CEO of Safran Defense & Space, Inc., emphasized the strategic location of Colorado and the benefits it brings to its operations. "Colorado is strategically located and home to an aerospace ecosystem that will advance Safran’s long-standing commitment to investing in the U.S. and deliver our capabilities to meet the dynamic needs of the U.S. space market," Bogosian said in a statement reported by Douglas County.

The jobs being created will include engineering, technical, and operational positions, reflecting Safran's push towards innovation in the rapidly growing U.S. space market - projected to exceed $5 billion by 2030. "This is a significant win for Douglas County and Colorado as a whole. Safran’s presence highlights our commitment to building an economy rooted in cutting-edge technology and innovation," said Ellie Reynolds, President & CEO of the Douglas County EDC, as obtained by Douglas County.
