A San Antonio homeowner has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after shooting a woman on his property, an incident that escalated rapidly from suspicion to violence. According to a report by KSAT, the 32-year-old man was working on his car outside his home in the 100 block of Bradford Avenue when he encountered an unidentified 45-year-old woman who he believed was trespassing and potentially burglarizing his residence.
Initially, when questioned by the homeowner, the woman reportedly ignored his inquiries and continued towards his front door, which led him to retrieve a gun and order her to leave his property. After she refused, the man discharged his firearm, injuring her once in the chest. "The suspect allegedly asked the woman what she was doing on his property, but police said she ignored him," KSAT reported on the initial altercation.
After the incident, the homeowner was taken into custody. As per the latest updates from the San Antonio Police Department, he is being detained for further questioning whilst the investigation goes on, as noted in the report from KSAT.
According to KEN5, police later confirmed that the homeowner, Johnathan Vasquez, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
