
Early this morning, a pit bull was shot and killed by a police officer on the West Side of San Antonio after the dog allegedly charged at the officer. The incident took place at a residence off Alametos near Blanco Road shortly after 4:30 a.m., according to reports by FOX San Antonio.
The officer was responding to a family disturbance call at the time of the encounter. Upon arrival, the pit bull approached the officer, exhibiting aggressive behavior such as growling and attempting to bite. The officer, finding himself in a threatening situation, drew his weapon and shot the dog in self-defense, as News 4 San Antonio reported.
There were no injuries reported to the officer involved in the incident.
