
A San Antonio woman is currently in critical condition after being shot by police officers who believed she was presenting a threat with a potential weapon at a West Side home. According to KSAT, the incident unfolded in the 200 block of Loma Park Drive when officers responded to a disturbance at approximately 1:45 a.m. today.
The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) stated that the 30-year-old woman had arrived at her ex-boyfriend's house and allegedly threatened to harm several people present. The situation escalated when officers claimed she motioned with what was believed to be a knife towards them, prompting them to open fire. The officers ultimately shot the woman twice.
This shooting marks the 25th incident this year involving SAPD officers, as noted by KENS 5. The officer or officers who discharged their weapons will be placed on administrative duty while the shooting is under investigation. The woman was transported to University Hospital and, at the time of this report, was undergoing surgery in an attempt to save her life.
