A San Jose man was arrested last week after a spree of alcohol thefts from a Bel Air store in Folsom, according to the local police department. Phu Doan, aged 52, was detained after he was allegedly caught attempting to steal over $2,000 worth of spirits, the Folsom Police Department said on social media.
The theft last Tuesday was not Doan's first; he is accused of stealing nearly $7,000 worth of alcohol from the same store over the past few days. The Folsom Police Department's post also noted that Doan had a nationwide warrant for his arrest on charges of selling crack cocaine/methamphetamine and resisting arrest in Idaho. When officers attempted to take him into custody, Doan reportedly resisted and injured an officer.
In the wake of the confrontation, Doan was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. According to the police department, Doan faces charges under his felony warrant, 148(a)(1) PC – Resisting Arrest, and 490.4(a)(1) PC – Organized Retail Theft.
