San Jose police have apprehended a 19-year-old suspect, Isaiah Overstreet, in connection with a Halloween night shooting incident that led to bullets striking an occupied vehicle, thankfully without injury to the passengers. The event, taking place in the vicinity of Peach Court and 24th Street, saw Overstreet allegedly fire upon the vehicle with no apparent provocation, promptly fleeing the scene before law enforcement's arrival, San José Police Department reports.
Detectives from the SJPD Assaults Unit conducted a detailed investigation, identifying Overstreet as the prime suspect and their subsequent action to secure a search warrant for his residence and vehicle. This endeavor led to his arrest in Colma last Tuesday, aided by the Department's Covert Response Unit, during which a privately made loaded firearm, various rounds of ammunition, and a compensator were discovered.
Following the arrest, Overstreet faces incarceration at the Santa Clara County main jail, where he has been booked on several felony charges, including discharging a firearm at an occupied vehicle and brandishing a firearm. Cash rewards for pertinent information may lead to further arrests offered by the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers Program.
