Residents of Marin County were alerted to a dramatic turn of events as the Marin County Sheriff's Office disclosed the arrest of Arcturus Wiggins, a 48-year-old male from Sausalito/Brentwood, on a spree of armed robberies and firearms charges. The developments unveiled an unsettling pattern of criminal threats in local convenience stores. According to the Marin County Sheriff's Office, the first incident occurred in mid-October when a man brandishing a silver revolver stormed into a Shoreline Highway 7-11 and coerced more than $500 from a clerk at gunpoint.
Investigations after this frightening episode led detectives to Wiggins, who eluded capture until he was implicated in another recent crime. On Sunday, Wiggins targeted a 7-11 on Redwood Highway Frontage. He brandished the same telltale silver revolver and wore similar clothes as he did during the previous heist. Deputies and detectives collaboratively cornered Wiggins on Tuesday in Starbucks, nestled within the Marin City shopping center, leading to his apprehension without incident.
During the arrest, officers secured a silver revolver on Wiggins, linking him to the robberies. The Marin County Sheriff's Office confirmed that "Wiggins was booked in to the Marin County Jail" facing multiple charges including robbery, attempted robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, and possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle. His bail was set at $75,000, an amount reflective of the gravity of the allegations.
