The Scott County Sheriff's Office is celebrating the recent graduation of two of its sergeants from a top-tier law enforcement leadership program. Sergeants Spencer Autenrieth and Jacob Edwinson completed the 10-week School of Police Staff & Command (SPSC) at the Northwestern Center for Public Safety, a course designed to ready officers for upper-level management roles, as reported by Scott County.
Over 10 arduous weeks, Autenrieth and Edwinson dived deep into various subjects that are critical to modern policing leadership – such as leadership itself, decision-making, and media relations, all set against the backdrop of the real-world issues they face in the field. The program is renowned for its approach to marrying academic concepts with the nitty-gritty of law enforcement work. "This achievement reflects their dedication to professional growth and advancing law enforcement leadership in Scott County," Sheriff Luke Hennen said, as stated by Scott County.
Following their rigorous academic journey, Sergents Autenrieth and Edwinson’s newly polished skills are expected to be a boon for both the sheriff's office and community members. "Their commitment will greatly benefit our agency and community," said Sheriff Hennen, as per Scott County, underscoring the duo's potential influence in Scott County's future law enforcement endeavors.
