An 86-year-old man was hospitalized after a stabbing attack in the parking lot of the Johnson Creek Fred Meyer in Clackamas County, authorities confirmed. According to the KOIN 6 News report, the incident took place on Friday afternoon when the man was assaulted while trying to place groceries in his car.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office described the suspect, Jesus Ascencio-Molina, 31, as wearing a brown puffy jacket, orange pants, and white socks at the time of the altercation, who after failing to hijack the senior man's vehicle fled the scene; this narrative was corroborated by witnesses who saw the victim crying for help after being stabbed, as KGW detailed the scenario informed by officials.
Authorities later located Ascencio-Molina approximately two hours after the crime was committed at an apartment complex a few blocks away from where the stabbing occurred.
