The school bus, identified as CMS Bus E763, had two students aboard during the time of the crash. "Out of an abundance of caution," one student was transported to the hospital for examination, as per Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools through a statement obtained by Queen City News. The bus reportedly was struck by another vehicle, an event that precipitated the hospitalizing of the aforementioned persons.
Officials have confirmed that the incident took place around 6 a.m. Crews responded promptly to calls about the crash, which led to the morning commute disruptions. Queen City News also noted that while two students were on board, only one required hospital evaluation. The condition of that student remains unspecified but was undertaken as a precautionary measure.
The details surrounding the collision remain scarce at this time. However, the involvement of the school bus in such a serious incident raises concerns about traffic safety particularly in the busy morning hours.
