St. Louis residents can brace for a dynamic weather pattern over the next week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). As of today, the city woke up to a cloudy sky with temperatures firmly seated at 22°F, promising a gradual transition to sunshine later in the day with highs nearing 37°F. The Northeast wind, though light at 5 to 8 mph in the morning, is slated to persist, ensuring that the wind chill keeps the air feeling brisk.
Tonight, the sky will wear thin veil of partial clouds, dipping temperatures to around 24°F, with Northeast winds picking up to 7 to 10 mph. The NWS forecast suggests that tomorrow will maintain the partly sunny theme, with a more comfortable high near 45°F. However, residents should prepare for an increased probability of rain starting tomorrow night at 30 percent and ramping up to a full-fledged downpour by Saturday, where the chance of precipitation stands at an indisputable 100 percent.
Those with weekend plans should gear up for rainy conditions, as Saturday evening continues the wet trend, though the likelihood of rain drops to 80 percent before the stroke of midnight. Come Sunday, while a reprieve is expected with mostly sunny skies and a high of 52°F, the respite is short-lived. The NWS warns that another bout of rain, about a 40 percent chance, is looming over Sunday night into Monday with potential thunderstorms kicking off next week.
As the workweek begins anew, the prospect of a rainy Monday is on the horizon with a 70 percent chance of precipitation marked by potentially thunderous outbursts. Temperatures will peak at a mild 59°F before descending into the cooler 30s post-rain on Monday night. Looking forward, Tuesday and Wednesday promise clearer skies punctuated with only a slight chance of rain, as highs hover in the low 40s.
