
The National Weather Service in Nashville has updated its forecast for the coming week, noting a move from partly cloudy skies to an expected sunny trend over the next few days. Today the high is anticipated to reach 33 degrees with a brisk north-northwest wind at 10 to 15 mph, and gusts that could hit 25 mph, while tonight's low could drop to a frigid 16 degrees.
In their latest release, the National Weather Service states that Friday will continue to be sunny with a high near 38 degrees and calm winds, shifting into a mostly clear Friday night with temperatures bottoming out around 21. The forecast predicts a warmup as we head into the weekend. Saturday's high is expected to hit nearly 49 under sunny skies and calm winds that will become a southwest breeze at about 5 mph in the morning, seeing a low around 33 degrees come nightfall.
The weather pattern, however, is due for a change on Sunday, with a 50 percent chance of afternoon showers and mostly cloudy conditions leading to a high near 54 degrees, while wind speeds will likely increase, coming from the south at 5 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. The National Weather Service foresees a rainy start to the next week, with a 90 percent chance of showers on Sunday night and lows around 45, and the likelihood of precipitation holds on Monday with an 80 percent chance of continual showers and a high of 63 degrees.
As stated by the National Weather Service, the wet conditions are expected to persist through Monday night, with a 70 percent chance of showers primarily before midnight, and a cloudy sky keeping the low around 49 degrees. Chances of rainfall decrease to 30 percent on Tuesday with highs near 59 and drop further to 20 percent by Tuesday night while partly sunny skies are forecasted for Wednesday with highs in the mid-40s.
