Pennsylvania State Police have taken 36-year-old Ronald Collins into custody in connection to the fatal shooting that transpired on Interstate 95 in Delaware County last year, while simultaneously intensifying the manhunt for a second suspect, 35-year-old Daryl Eugene Beckett. According to NBC Philadelphia, both Collins and Beckett, who hail from Chester, Pennsylvania, face charges of murder, conspiracy, and violations of the Uniformed Firearms Act.
On October 7, 2023, at around 1:22 a.m., a report of a highway shooting brought state police to I-95 northbound near mile-marker 1.6 in Upper Chichester Township. At the scene, they discovered Chris Gordy deceased inside a vehicle, riddled with multiple gunshot wounds. A passenger within the same vehicle bore a similar fate, surviving, but critically injured with numerous gunshot wounds, as detailed by CBS News Philadelphia.
Collins was apprehended on December 12, 2024, with law enforcement still in pursuit of Beckett, who is deemed armed and dangerous. PA authorities urge anyone with information regarding Beckett's whereabouts to immediately contact 911 or the Pennsylvania State Police tip line at 1-800-4PA-TIPS (8477). Tipsters also have the option to submit information online and may receive a cash reward if their tip contributes to an arrest, resolution of a crime or the discovery of a wanted suspect or missing person.
