In a recent update on the Woodward Walmart shooting, suspect Shane Allison has been charged with the murder of Christina Alewine and Gary Mulbery. As reported by OKC FOX, Allison was denied bond and faces charges for two counts of murder and possession of a sawed-off shotgun. The court has also barred him from contacting the victims' families.

Capt. Darren Navratil of the Woodward Police Department remarked on the rarity of such violent events in the community, acknowledging the deep impact it has had. "In a town the size of Woodward, anytime there's a homicide, it’s a shock to the community. It's not something that happens every day. It's not even something that happens once a month," he told KOCO. The motive behind the murders remains unclear, with police still in the process to definitively determine why Allison carried out the attack.

Further details revealed by court documents indicate Allison had been planning the attack since last Tuesday, a day before the shooting took place. Living on the property of one of the victims, the 81-year-old Gary Mulbery, Allison took several firearms, sawed off the barrels and stocks of two rifles and a shotgun, and gathered ammunition for the assault, as per the affidavit mentioned by News 9.

The tragic events unfolded last Wednesday when Woodward Police were dispatched to the Walmart parking lot following a report of a serious head injury and a fatality. They discovered Mulbery and Alewine, later pronounced dead. After fleeing the crime scene, Allison was detained at a nearby high school, in possession of a .22 caliber revolver and the bag containing the modified firearms. "Police learned that everyone went into the store except for Allison. Police say that when the family was loading groceries into the car, Allison got out of the vehicle and shot both Mulbery and Alewine before fleeing the scene," according to an affidavit acquired by News 9. The investigation into this premeditated attack continues as the small town of Woodward grapples with the sudden violence that has shaken its community.
